Overnight Ukrainian attack becomes largest since beginning of 2025

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that 128 Ukrainian drones had been shot down

MOSCOW, February 26. /TASS/. The Ukrainian drone attack that took place in the early morning hours of February 26 has become the largest since the beginning of the year, according to the Russian Defense Ministry’s report.

The ministry earlier reported that 128 Ukrainian drones had been shot down. The last time such a massive attack took place was on January 24, when air defenses downed 121 Ukrainian drones.

In 2024, Russian air defenses shot down 7,345 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over 35 regions outside the special military operation zone. According to the Defense Ministry, the largest number of drones, 1,896, was downed over the Belgorod Region. A total of 1,206 drones were shot down in the Bryansk Region, and 1,170 in the Kursk Region.
