ANKARA, February 24. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said many countries are changing their position on Ukraine in favor of "more realism."
"We have given detailed consideration to a number of international and regional developments, including the processes that are now unfolding around the situation in Ukraine. We are not changing our position and just noting with satisfaction that there is more realism, much more realism in the position of many countries, which understand that it will be impossible to agree on anything without a lasting, sustainable agreement that would eliminate the root causes of this situation," he said at a news conference following talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
Additionally, the foreign ministers of Russia and Turkey gave a detailed consideration to the situation in the area of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
"We exchanged views on the measures that are necessary to ensure an immediate, sustainable ceasefire, the release of hostages and, of course, the resumption of the negotiation process on the basis of the Security Council resolution providing for the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state, which would coexist side by side with Israel in peace and security," Lavrov said.
