KURSK, February 7. /TASS/. A court in the Russian city of Kursk has issued an arrest warrant for a Ukrainian colonel who ordered numerous shelling attacks on the Kursk Region, the joint press service of the region’s courts said in a statement.
"On February 7, the Leninsky District Court in the city of Kursk ruled that Rostislav Karpusha be taken into custody for two months starting on the day of his extradition or detention as he is on an international wanted list," the statement reads.
According to the charge, Colonel Rostislav Karpusha, commander of the St. Varvara 19th Separate Missile Brigade, ordered multiple shelling attacks on the Kursk Region in the fall of 2024. The attacks involved missiles with cluster submunitions.
Earlier, a criminal investigation was opened into Karpusha following a strike on a boarding school in the city of Sudzha in the Kursk Region. According to investigators, on February 1, Karpusha ordered his troops to carry out a strike on the boarding school, where civilians were present. The attack caused casualties and fatalities but Ukraine has not specified their number.
