Yevgeny Balitsky described the attacks as acts of terrorism and emphasized that the regional government would implement enhanced security measures for schools in settlements along the line of engagement

MELITOPOL, February 5. /TASS/. Ukrainian servicemen delivered drone strikes on two schools in the Zaporozhye Region, one full of children and the other one empty, Governor Yevgeny Balitsky told TASS.

"We recorded terrorist UAV attacks on two secondary schools in the Pologovsky district. During the night, Ukrainian troops launched a massive drone strike on a shuttered school in the village of Pologi, setting the building on fire. Russian Emergencies Ministry staff arrived to extinguish the fire. In the morning, another ruthless attack followed, as three drones targeted a school in the village of Shevchenkovo. At the time, 27 children were inside. Thankfully, no one was injured, and the children were promptly evacuated," Balitsky said.

The governor described the attacks as acts of terrorism and emphasized that the regional government would implement enhanced security measures for schools in settlements along the line of engagement.

On the morning of February 4, Balitsky reported a Ukrainian drone strike on a school bus in the Vasilyevsky district of the Zaporozhye Region. The attack severely injured the driver and five children, all of whom were hospitalized. A total of 20 children were aboard the bus at the time of the strike.
