MOSCOW, February 3. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and ambassadors of the countries that are members of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) outlined key tasks of cooperation and discussed establishing a framework of security in Eurasia, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported following the meeting held in Moscow.
"The event summarized the results of cooperation in the CIS format under the Russian chairmanship in 2024. The participants outlined key priorities for the future, focusing on further enhancing foreign policy coordination, expanding cooperation in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as in the field of security," the ministry said following the parties' traditional meeting, which was also attended by CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev.
The meeting participants "exchanged views on major global and regional topics, including those related to implementing Russian President Vladimir Putin's strategic initiative for developing a system of equal and indivisible security in Eurasia," the Russian Foreign Ministry noted.
