NOVO-OGAREVO, December 2. /TASS/. Russia may scale up science financing to 2% of GDP even earlier than 2030 as planned, President Vladimir Putin said at the meeting with young scientists.
"I understand [certain] issues are definitely linked to financing. Let’s discuss all these topics. Certainly, we have a goal set and we will implement it - 2% of the GDP should go to science. By the year of 2030. Probably, we will achieve such financing volumes earlier," the head of state said.
Russia plans to educate one million engineers in the next three years, the president noted. "This figure should grow to almost two million - 1.8 mln people by the end of 2030 or by 2030. The effort in this direction is underway in general," Putin added.
