SOCHI, November 7. /TASS/. Food and energy security, access to healthcare and education, as well as the possibility of legal and unimpeded movement of people should be left outside of the context of any conflict, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a plenary session of the Valdai Discussion Club.
"Attempts to use the economy as a weapon, no matter who it is aimed at, hit everyone, first and foremost the most vulnerable, the people and countries that need support. We are convinced that such problems as food and energy security, access to healthcare and education services, and finally, the possibility of legal and unimpeded movement of people should be factor out of any conflict. These are the very basic human rights," Putin said.
According to him, the lag of many countries and societies in terms of socio-economic development is a complex phenomenon. There is no magic cure for this disease, this requires a long-term and systematic work. "But in any case, even there we need to create conditions under which artificial, politically motivated obstacles to development will be removed," the head of state believes.
