Berlin fears Germans traveling to Russia, discovering truth — Russian diplomat

On March 7, the German Foreign Ministry published a press release "strongly discouraging" its citizens from visiting Russia

MOSCOW, March 7. /TASS/. Berlin’s recommendations discouraging Germans from traveling to Russia have been motivated by the government’s concern that following such a visit, German citizens will realize that they have been fooled for years by their own politicians, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

"Germany’s pro-US authorities are afraid that their citizens will see Russia with their own eyes, interact with Russians and realize that their own politicians have been fooling [them] all these years," the diplomat noted, commenting on the matter.

On March 7, the German Foreign Ministry published a press release "strongly discouraging" its citizens from visiting Russia.
