Western sanctions do not work — Kremlin

Dmitry Peskov recalled that Russia had developed at a rate of over 3.6% in 2023

SIRIUS /Federal Territory/, March 6. /TASS/. Western sanctions do not work, but Russia will continue to benefit from them, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.

"Last year we developed at a rate of over 3.6%, which is a very high rate of development for us, for our economy. This is a great success, a great success for the leadership of our country. This suggests that sanctions bring problems, but they don’t work," Peskov said, noting that he is confident that Russia will continue to benefit from them.

He also stressed that Russia does not support dictating any conditions to its partners and supports becoming happier and richer together. Peskov noted that the Armenian people benefit from cooperation with Russia and Armenia’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Community, as trade turnover, benefits, transport services, and the financial sector are growing.

"We are against dictating anything to anyone. We support making money together, becoming happier and richer together. We are sure that our Armenian friends understand this too," Peskov said.
