LUGANSK, December 11. /TASS/. The Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics (LPR and DPR, respectively) are fully ready for the presidential election, including their electronic voting systems, according to the chairman of the regional election commissions.
"Members of our district commissions have undergone training and are ready for the upcoming vote," Mariana Sumskaya, deputy chairperson of the LPR election commission, told a meeting at Russia’s Central Election Commission, adding that IT administrators, who are responsible for the technical aspects of the election campaign and the operation of the electronic voting system, are also ready.
Vladimir Vysotsky, chairman of the DPR election commission, also said that the republic is ready to hold the elections, noting that its successful experience in Russia’s single voting day will be of much help.
The presidential election will be held in Russia from March 15 through 17, 2024. Incumbent President Vladimir Putin is eligible to run for his fifth office term.
