Russia retains scientific ties with other states despite Western opposition — Medvedev

According to the politician, "the mega grant program has shown its worth"

MOSCOW, November 13. /TASS/. The West is trying to hinder Russia's scientific cooperation with other countries, but Moscow still has many partners abroad interested in working together, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said.

"We continue to expand international cooperation in science. And here, of course, our adversaries have tried to do as much damage as possible by dealing it a death blow," Medvedev told a meeting of the Presidium of the Council on Science and Education. However, Russia "still has partners in many countries of the world who are sincerely interested in working with Russia," he noted.

According to Medvedev, "the mega grant program has shown its worth." "In 2022, it helped to attract more than 50 leading scientists from abroad," he specified.

Medvedev reiterated that this year Russia is holding chairmanship of the Eurasian Economic Union agencies, while in May Russian President Vladimir Putin came up with an initiative to bring scientific and educational cooperation with the EAEU countries to a new level in order to team up for the development and implementation of advanced solutions in the economy.

"Our country has prepared its proposals to see these initiatives put into practice next year. Of course, it is necessary to submit them for consideration by the partners in the Eurasian Economic Union as soon as possible, before the end of this year," the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council pointed out.
