Russia expects Belarus to join SCO soon, prime minister says

Mikhail Mishustin also recounted that Iran joined the SCO as a full member in July this year

BISHKEK, October 26. /TASS/. Russia hopes that Belarus will soon complete all accession procedures for joining the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at an expanded format meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of SCO Member States.

"Of course, we expect that in the very near future Belarus will complete all the procedures and become a member of the organization," he said.

Mishustin also recounted that Iran joined the SCO as a full member in July this year. "We invite our Iranian colleagues to join in the [organization‘s] multifaceted work," the Russian prime minister said.
