Putin to visit Tula on April 4 — Kremlin press service

MOSCOW, April 3. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a working visit to the Tula Region on Tuesday, April 4, the Kremlin’s press service has said.

In particular, the head of state will inspect the Tulazheldormash plant - one of the largest manufacturers of heavy railway track machinery and equipment for the construction, renovation and maintenance of railway tracks. He will also hold a meeting of the State Council via a video link. The meeting will focus on the development of domestic industry amid sanctions pressure. Reports will be delivered by the governor of the Tula region, Chairman of the State Council Commission on Industry Alexey Dyumin and Deputy Prime Minister - Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov.

During the meeting, it is planned to submit proposals on increasing the volume of industry support, expanding the activities of development institutions, leveling the risks of technological backwardness, training high-level engineering and qualified personnel in priority areas, the press service specified.

The President will inspect the Tulazheldormash plant, which is included in the list of backbone industrial enterprises of the Russian economy, and one of the strategically important enterprises in the Tula region.
