BEIJING, March 14. /TASS/. The Chinese Foreign Ministry has not provided any specific information on the alleged plans of President Xi Jinping to hold an online meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky.

"I would like to answer your question from three points of view," Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin said in reply to a request to comment on Xi Jinping’s potential contact with Zelensky after his probable upcoming meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, "Firstly, China and Russia maintain close contact at all levels, I have nothing to report on this [Xi Jinping-Putin meeting]. Secondly, China’s position on the Ukrainian crisis has always been clear, we have always been in contact with all the sides [of the conflict]. Thirdly, <…> China has always adhered to a foreign policy aimed at mainaining global peace and promoting common development."

On Monday, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources, that Xi Jinping allegedly planned to hold online meeting with Zelensky. According to the newspaper, the Chinese president planned to visit Moscow next week to meet with Putin, and then talk to his Ukrainian counterpart.
