MOSCOW, March 9. /TASS/. Cooperation between Russia and Saudi Arabia in various fields, including the energy sector, does not depend on changes of the market situation, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference on Thursday. He was speaking after a meeting with his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.
When answering a question from TASS about how the situation around Ukraine affected energy cooperation between the two states, he replied:
"As for our cooperation with Saudi Arabia, both in the energy sector and in many other fields, it is not subject to market fluctuations, some irrelevant considerations."
The Russian Foreign Minister added that Moscow and Riyadh reaffirmed their commitment to existing agreements, primarily as part of the OPEC+ agreements.
"[The agreements] remain in full force until the end of this year, after which the members of the OPEC+ group will consider the situation and make new decisions," Lavrov concluded.
