The resumption of face-to-face exchanges between China and Russia is a priority of the countries' cooperation, Russian Ambassador to Beijing Igor Morgulov said at a meeting with Lin Songtian, President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), the Russian embassy said in a statement.
"The soonest restoration of pre-pandemic face-to-face exchanges between our countries is a priority," Morgulov said.
He also noted that public diplomacy plays an important role in Russian-Chinese relations and stressed the need to expand cultural and humanitarian projects.
"For his part, Lin Songtian emphasized the importance of developing Russian-Chinese interregional cooperation. He emphasized the importance of youth exchanges, proposing to resume in person the project ‘Youth of Russia and China together walk the road of friendship’, carried out under the auspices of the CPAFFC together with Rossotrudnichestvo (Federal Agency for CIS Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation)," the embassy reported.
The Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries was founded in 1954. The organization aims to expand humanitarian, cultural, trade and economic, political, social and scientific relations between China and foreign countries.
