DPR adviser sees no chance for Ukrainian forces to start offensive in any area

"Ukraine doesn’t have enough forces for an offensive now: not in the south, not in the north, in any areas," Yan Gagin said

DONETSK, February 3. /TASS/. Yan Gagin, a military analyst from the Donetsk People’s Republic and an adviser to the head of the region, on Friday told TASS that Ukrainian forces aren’t prepared to start an offensive in any area, including in the south.

"There’s no offensive by Ukraine in the south, and there are no conditions for it now, either. Ukraine doesn’t have enough forces for an offensive now: not in the south, not in the north, in any areas," he said.

Bloomberg reported on Thursday, citing US and EU government officials, that Western countries are recommending that Kiev stall for time, build up its forces and wait for the pledged Leopard tanks so it can launch an offensive in the spring, even if it means sacrificing Artyomovsk (known as Bakhmut in Ukraine) at this point.
