MOSCOW, January 27. /TASS/. The Russian Federation will continue to ask questions and seek explanations from the US side regarding the operation of biological laboratories in Ukraine, because evidence exists that these laboratories are being used for military purposes, Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva Gennady Gatilov said on Russian TV Friday.

"We have raised concrete questions for the Americans regarding the use of biolaboratories, the goals of the studies […] carried out there, because we have serious and rather revealing facts that those laboratories are being used for military purposes. […] However, all that we have heard from the Americans are only excuses. […] So we will continue asking these questions and insist that they [the Americans - TASS] explain and provide specific answers to these questions, which we have raised regarding the biolabs and the actions carried out there," he elaborated.

In March 2022, the State Duma and the Federation Council passed a decree to carry out a parliamentary investigation of the operation of biological laboratories on Ukrainian soil, as well as the establishment of a joint commission for this investigation, which included 14 deputies and 14 senators.

The commission is supposed to present a dossier, which will be forwarded to the President of Russia, the government and international organizations. According to Duma Deputy Speaker Irina Yarovaya, this dossier will present all necessary evidence, "draw all cause-and-effect links, outline all threats and challenges, and identify all involved organizations, international legal entities and officials".
