Russia’s special operation not aiming for regime change in Kiev, Kremlin assures

Dmitry Peskov emphasized that "Russia aspires to achieve its goals of the special military operation" and that "it is possible to reach these goals in various ways and in various formats"

MOSCOW, November 21. /TASS/. Regime change in Ukraine is not among the goals of Russia’s special military operation and President Vladimir Putin has already mentioned this, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday.

"No, the president has spoken about this already," the Kremlin representative said, replying to a question as to whether Moscow’s special operation had regime change among its plans for Vladimir Zelensky and his administration.

That said, Putin’s press secretary emphasized that "Russia aspires to achieve its goals of the special military operation." "It is possible to reach these goals in various ways and in various formats," he specified.

Earlier, Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev said in an interview with aif.ru that the normalization of relations between Russia and Ukraine was possible only after a change of power in Kiev since the current regime has no freedom of maneuver and is trapped by its own prior actions and ideology.
