Kiev intends to further escalate conflict — Russian Foreign Ministry

According to Ivan Nechayev, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian armed forces Valery Zaluzhny has adopted an even tougher stance since he "rejects the very thought of any talks or reaching a compromise"

MOSCOW, November 17. /TASS/. The Kiev regime is set on the further escalation of the conflict and not on halting military activity and concluding a truce, Ivan Nechayev, Deputy Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Information and Press Department, told a briefing on Thursday.

"The Ukrainian leadership is displaying a purely belligerent attitude. There is no mention of halting combat or a truce. Kiev is set on escalating the conflict," he said.

According to the diplomat, the aggressiveness of the Kiev regime’s rhetoric is only increasing. "Speaking at the G20 summit on November 15, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in his usual Russophobic manner presented another detached from reality list of Ukrainian fantasies calling it a ‘peace formula’," Nechayev said. "He deliberately ignored the subject of negotiations but clearly signaled Kiev’s intention to fight till the bitter end," the diplomat explained.

According to him, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian armed forces Valery Zaluzhny has adopted an even tougher stance since he "rejects the very thought of any talks or reaching a compromise."
