"In his speech on September 30, Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin stressed the importance of providing security for citizens in the new regions of the Russian Federation. The measures taken by the president today are aimed precisely at achieving this goal. It is a serious strategic decision, which is designed to provide security for the civilian population and help our soldiers perform all the tasks of the special military operation as soon as possible," Bidyovka said.

Earlier on Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of the Security Council, held via video conference, that he had signed a decree introducing martial law in Russia’s four new regions.
