Involvement of CSTO troops in special operation in Ukraine not considered, Kremlin says

However, according to Dmitry Peskov, "the CSTO’s role is vital"

MOSCOW, June 20. /TASS/. The involvement of Collective Security Treaty Organization forces in Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine has not been discussed yet, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.

"No, the scenario has not been considered yet," he said, when asked about potential CSTO involvement.

However, "the CSTO’s role is vital," the presidential spokesman said, commenting on a statement about the organization by Chechnya’s leader Ramzan Kadyrov.

"Developing the CSTO further is one of our priorities in politics and security," Peskov said.
