MOSCOW, April 18. /TASS/. The Kremlin will make an announcement if Russian President Vladimir Putin reacts to a request from Oksana Marchenko, the wife of Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk, who asked for assistance in exchanging her husband, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday.

"We will make an announcement if there is a reaction from the president," he said in response to a question.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky last week announced Medvedchuk’s detention and posted photos of a handcuffed man who looked like him. Zelensky also came up with the idea of exchanging the politician for Ukrainian prisoners of war.
