No serious violations registered during Russian electoral campaign — official

Natalya Budarina assured that electoral commission will "do everything they can to react to whatever may happen [during the elections] with all seriousness," but expressed her hope that "no violations will take place"

MOSCOW, September 16. /TASS/. The Russian State Duma elections campaign took place without serious violations, Central Electoral Commission Secretary Natalya Budarina said Thursday as polling stations open in Russia’s Far East.

"Thankfully, there were no serious violations," she said.

She assured that electoral commission will "do everything they can to react to whatever may happen [during the elections] with all seriousness," but expressed her hope that "no violations will take place."

"We expect everything to go smoothly and calmly," the official added.

The Russian State Duma Elections will take place on September 17, 18 and 19. The parliamentary elections will happen simultaneously with elections of nine regional governors and 39 regional parliaments. The election kicked off in Russia’s Far East at 23:00 Moscow Time on September 16.
