SOCHI, June 25. /TASS/. Russia will not hinder the US from sending American citizens to work at the embassy in Russia, considering that hiring Russians is prohibited, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told reporters on Friday.
"If the Americans decide to replace their personnel to a certain extent with employees sent on assignment from the US, then, of course, we won’t hinder that. We understand that the embassy must function, but the cap that we set several years ago, 455 people, remains," he said.
"Naturally, when the Americans ask for visas for such personnel, we will grant them based on the existing practice, and not in some other way," the senior diplomat said.
