Man who killed DPR Boxing Federation chief dies in explosion he arranged

Investigators are considering several possible reasons for the incident, including personal revenge

MOSCOW, February 4. /TASS/. Preliminary data indicate that the explosion in Moscow’s Alye Parusa housing estate was triggered by a man who died in the blast himself, emergency response services told TASS.

"According to preliminary data, the man who detonated the explosive device to kill [Armen] Sarkisyan died on the spot. His identity is being established. The investigation is pursuing the criminal version of the murder," the agency source said.

Investigators are considering several possible reasons for the incident, including personal revenge, law enforcers told TASS.

The explosion at the Alye Parusa residential compound took place on Monday morning. Preliminary reports suggest that the attack targeted Armen Sarkisyan, the president of the Boxing Federation of the Donetsk People’s Republic. He was hospitalized in serious condition but later succumbed to his injuries. Additionally, another person was killed, and two others suffered wounds.
