Temporary security restrictions were triggered at Kazan airport — aviation authority

Restrictions on arrivals and departures of airplanes at the Kazan Airport have been lifted from 09:30 a.m.

MOSCOW, December 31. /TASS/. Temporary security restrictions have been imposed at the airport in Kazan, the capital of Russia’s Tatarstan Region, a spokesperson of the Federal Air Transport Agency said on the Telegram channel.

"Temporary restrictions were introduced this morning for operations of the Kazan Airport to ensure the safety of civilian airplanes. The air harbor does not temporarily send and receive flights," the statement reads.

Aircraft crews, air traffic controllers and airport services were taking the necessary measures to ensure the safety of flights, the spokesperson added.

Restrictions on arrivals and departures of airplanes at the Kazan Airport have been lifted from 09:30 a.m. Moscow time (06:30 a.m. GMT).

Two airplanes landed during the restriction period in the Nizhnekamszk Airport, the press service added.
