Since March 23, a state of local emergency has been in effect in the villages of Zhuravlevka and Nekhoteevka after shelling by Ukraine

MOSCOW, May 25. /TASS/. Ten houses were damaged on Wednesday in the fire opened on the village of Zhuravlevka in Russia’s Belgorod Region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, the regional governor, wrote on his Telegram channel.

"According to preliminary reports by Vladimir Pertsev, the head of the Belgorod district, ten homes were damaged by shelling today. A total of 82 buildings and 41 vehicles in Zhuravlevka and Nekhoteevka have been damaged by shelling. It is still impossible to carry out repairs. The main reason is that it is not safe for the construction workers, as shelling of the territory continues," the governor wrote.

Gladkov promised that on Thursday, his deputies would visit Zhuravlevka to go door to door and document the damage. The governor said that repairs would begin as soon as possible.

On Wednesday, a man born in 1993 was injured in Zhuravlevka by ongoing shelling and hospitalized with deep shrapnel wounds.
