Ammonia leak fixed at chemical plant in Sumy — Emergency Service

The company’s employees have already begun routine maintenance to restore production

KIEV, March 21. /TASS/. An ammonia leak at the Sumykhimprom plant in Sumy, Ukraine has been fixed, Ukraine’s Emergency Service said on Monday.

"At 7:49 a.m. (8:49 a.m. Moscow time), an accidental ammonia leak in Sumy, Ukraine on the territory of PJSC Sumykhimprom was eliminated," the statement reads.

It is specified that the company’s employees have already begun routine maintenance to restore production.

On Monday morning, regional administration head Dmitry Zhivitsky announced that an ammonia leak had occurred at the Sumykhimprom plant in Sumy. Ukraine’s Emergency Service reported that it posed no threat to people, and at 7:30 a.m. (8:30 a.m. Moscow time) the leakage was eliminated.
