Strong winds toppled 51 trees, one car was damaged

MOSCOW, July 15. /TASS/. Power supplies in almost 150 towns and villages near the Russian capital Moscow have been disrupted by strong winds on Tuesday night, an emergency source told TASS.

"Due to unfavorable weather conditions, electricity supplies were disrupted to 147 populated areas with a total population of 8,200 people. Strong winds toppled 51 trees, one car was damaged," the source said.

Airports of Domodedovo, Zhukovsky and Sheremetyevo are working in normal regime despite bad weather, the source said.

Earlier, the Moscow Region emergencies service warned that heavy rains, thunderstorms and gusts of wind of about 15-20 mph are expected late on July 14.

Another source told TASS that in Moscow, winds toppled more than 20 trees in various districts of the Russian capital, damaging about 10 cars. No casualties were reported.
