MOSCOW, October 27. /TASS/. The bilateral trade turnover between Russia and South Africa is growing and has been above $1 bln per year for four years in a row, said Alexander Kozlov, the Russian Minister of Natural Resources and co-chairman of the joint intergovernmental committee on trade and economic cooperation between Russia and South Africa.
"The bilateral trade turnover is growing every year. And stably, for four consecutive years now, it has been above one billion US dollars. I would like to note that South Africa is among Russia's top six trading partners in Africa," he said.
The primary range of products consists of foods, Kozlov said. "We import fruits, dried fruits, and nuts, while we export wheat. In addition, we sell fertilizers to the republic and buy manganese ore," he added.
Manganese is also key to our joint investment projects, Kozlov stressed. "There are currently two of them: the development of the largest mine in Africa and a metallurgical plant," the minister added.
