MOSCOW, April 22. /TASS/. The Russian government may consider the ban on mining in certain regions at a governmental commission’s meeting in May, the Office of Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told TASS.
"There will be probably the meeting of the governmental commission in May, where the issue will be considered of banning the mining in certain regions, with Khakassia among them," the office said.
Several Russian regions showed interest in banning mining, earlier reports said. Thus far, mining is banned until March 15, 2031 in eleven regions of the country.
