Russian budget deficit expected to be 0.5% of GDP in 2025 — Finance Minister

According to Anton Siluanov, the deficit is planned to be much smaller than in 2024

MOSCOW, March 26. /TASS/. The Russian budget deficit is still expected at the level of 0.5% of GDP in 2025, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 TV Channel.

"The [budget] deficit is planned to be much smaller this year than in the last year. I would like to remind, figures are 1.7% of GDP and 0.5% of GDP in this year," Siluanov said.

"We see there are changes, certain [deviations] from our forecast data over the year. Oil slightly differs, [its price] is a bit lower; the [ruble] rate is stronger," he added.
