KRASNOYARSK, March 19. /TASS/. A special-purpose vehicles service facility with heating from a mining farm will be built in Norilsk, in the Krasnoyarsk Region's north. Investments in the project will be more than 33 million rubles ($391,000), the Yenisei Siberia Development Corporation's press service said.
"A business resident of the Russian Federation's Arctic Zone will build a facility to service special-purpose vehicles, where heating will come from a mining farm. The Engineering and Technical Center Company will create this facility in Norilsk by 2027. The complex will be heated by the heat from the mining farm. The farm's profit will cover electricity expenses. Under an agreement with the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, the new business resident will invest 33.2 million rubles in the project," the press service said.
The company will build a garage for special-purpose vehicles, a transformer substation, and will purchase a front loader and the mining farm equipment. "In Norilsk, the growing demand for special-purpose vehicles is due to the housing renovation, infrastructures' and industrial facilities' upgrade. Use of such equipment is seasonal, while heating is required nine months a year. By using the 150 kW mining rig, the company will build up the business effectiveness," the company's CEO Vadim Yemelyanov said.
The Russian Federation's Arctic Zone is the largest economic zone with preferential tax and administrative conditions for investors. In the Krasnoyarsk Region, 33 business residents are implementing initiatives with total investments of 4.2 billion rubles ($50 million). The Yenisei Siberia Development Corporation functions as the region's management company.
The comprehensive plan for Norilsk's socio-economic development (renovation) requires 120.1 billion rubles ($1.4 billion) in investments until 2035. These financial resources are used in construction of new housing and social facilities, as well as in renovation of urban infrastructures.
