MOSCOW, March 4. /TASS/. The total crop area in Russia will be almost 84 mln hectares, Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut said.

"The total crop area this year will stand at almost 84 mln hectares, of which 55.8 mln hectares for spring crops," the minister said. "To date, 87% of winter crops are in good and satisfactory condition," she noted.

Planting is planned to be increased this year for oil crops, sugar beet, vegetables, potato and feed crops, Lut added.
