Over 860 tons of petrochemicals sold on exchange on first trading day

MOSCOW, March 3. /TASS/. More than 860 metric tons of petrochemicals were sold as of the close of business on the first trading day at the St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange, the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service said.

"During the first trading day, 183 metric tons of ortoxylene, 123 metric tons of toluene, 44 metric tons of styrene and 516 metric tons of phenol were sold," the watchdog said.

In December 2024, the Ministry of Justice registered a joint resolution of the Federal Antimonopoly Service and the Ministry of Energy on establishing the standard rate of petrochemical sales on the exchange, the regulator informed. The minimal sales volume for exchange trading stands at 10% from the total output. The resolution came into force on March 1.

The document applies to companies having the dominating position on this merchandise market.
