Avtovaz to start production of new Lada Iskra on April 19

The company plans to launch the industrial production of its newest model on the 55th anniversary of the launch of the first VAZ-2101 car

MOSCOW, March 3. /TASS/. Avtovaz will start production of the new Lada Iskra model on April 19, 2025, the company said in a statement quoting its CEO Maxim Sokolov.

According to the statement, on the 55th anniversary of the launch of the first car VAZ-2101 on April 19, 2025, the company plans to launch the industrial production of its newest model - Lada Iskra.

Sokolov noted that Avtovaz was able to achieve full technological sovereignty based on Lada Iskra. According to him, since 2022, the carmaker and its partner suppliers have managed to localize more than 2,000 materials and components.

"As early as June 2025, we will hold the world premiere of the new crossover created by Russian engineers based on Russian Vesta platform, and we will start its production in 2026," he said.
