MOSCOW, March 2. /TASS/. Liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies from European terminals to the EU gas transmission system in February were record-breaking for this month throughout the observation period, according to data from Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE).
At the end of February, they amounted to 10.7 bln cubic meters, which was 2.7% higher than in January and 11% higher than in February 2024. This figure was a record for the month over the entire observation period.
In total, LNG flows from terminals to the European gas transmission system amounted to about 21.2 bln cubic meters at the end of January-February, which is 4% more than in the same period in 2024.
Gas withdrawals from storage facilities in 2025 rank first in terms of share among gas sources for Europe at 43.7%, according to data from the European Network of Gas Transmission System Operators (ENTSOG) as of February 27. LNG supplies are in second place with a share of 24.9%, and North Sea supplies (mainly Norwegian gas) are in third place with 16.7%.
This exceeded the figures for supplies from the East (Russian gas, Ukrainian gas supplies, as well as the withdrawal of their gas from the Ukrainian UGS by European companies) (4.5%). Gas supplies from North Africa amounted to 6.6%, from the UK - 1.5%.
