ST. PETERSBURG, February 19. /TASS/. Russia receives a small amount of money for oil transit over the Caspian Pipeline Consortium pipeline, President Vladimir Putin said.
"Shareholders of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium are the US companies; Chevron, it seems to me, and European, including Eni, and Russian ones also, Lukoil. We actually received a very small amount of money for this transit, ‘five kopecks,’ figuratively speaking," Putin said.
Oil transported over CPC is produced in Kazakhstan within the framework of the production sharing agreement and actually belongs to US and European companies producing it, the president said. "We simply provide the service for our Kazakh friends and partners working in Kazakhstan," he added.
