MOSCOW, February 10. /TASS/. Automated hybrid energy complexes may be a solution to the problems of energy supply in isolated and remote territories of the Far East and the Arctic, Russia's Minister for Development of the Far East and Arctic Alexey Chekunov told the State Council Commission on Energy.
"One of the effective technology solutions to the problems of energy supply in isolated and remote areas is to use automated hybrid energy complexes, uniting diesel generators, renewable energy installations and energy storage systems," he said.
As part of investment projects' support for the Russian Federation Arctic Zones' business residents, six energy complexes have been built in Yakutia, the minister added.
The official pointed to the growing socio-economic importance of the Arctic and Far East for the country, as those regions have significant resource potential, they are important for preserving the cultural heritage of the North's indigenous peoples and for the transport system development.
