Unemployment in Russia falls to 2.8% in February

At the same time, real wages in Russia in January 2024 increased by 8.5% in annual terms

MOSCOW, April 3. /TASS/. The unemployment rate in Russia in February 2024 fell to 2.8% (excluding seasonal factors) from 2.9% a month earlier, according to the Russian State Statistics Service (Rosstat).

"In February 2024, 2.1 mln people aged 15 years and older were classified as unemployed," the statement said.

At the same time, real wages in Russia in January 2024 increased by 8.5% in annual terms, while by December 2023 the decline was 28.6%, Rosstat said.

The average monthly accrued wages of employees of organizations in January 2024 amounted to 75,034 rubles ($818.95) and increased by 16.6% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
