MOSCOW, December 5. /TASS/. Unprecedented sanctions have failed to exclude Russia from the global economy, the interconnectedness of the world is currently insuperable, Fyodor Lukyanov, political scientist, research director at the Foundation for Development and Support of the Valdai International Discussion Club, said at the 14th Asian Conference of the club.
"The attempt at a total economic blockade of Russia, which was undertaken last year, did not bring any results. That is, it is not possible to eliminate Russia from the world economy, although unprecedented efforts were made. This never happened before. We see that <...> the Russian Federation remains part of the world economy, despite all the sanctions," the expert said.
Lukyanov explained that the world is not falling apart, despite all the difficulties in relations between major countries.
"We see that even such events are not able to destroy the interconnectedness of the world. The global environment is invincible," he said.
