Europe's share of grain deal 40%, Africa's just 12% — Turkey's Defense Ministry

Thirty one ships carrying 1.2 mln metric tons of foods have departed from Ukrainian ports since March 19

ANKARA, March 31. /TASS/. More than 25 mln metric tons of grain have been transported as part of the grain deal, with 12% of this volume being supplied to Africa and 40% to Europe, Turkey's Ministry of Defense said on Friday.

More than 25 mln metric tons have been delivered to date from the start of the grain export agreements. "As of March 30, 851 vessels have sailed from Ukrainian ports. Regarding the total volume of exported grain, Europe received 40%, Asia - 30%; 13% to Turkey, 12% to African nations and 5% to the Middle East," the Ministry said.

Thirty one ships carrying 1.2 mln metric tons of foods have departed from Ukrainian ports since March 19, the Ministry added.
