Russia has analogs of payment terminals for case of Ingenico withdrawal — Ministry

Earlier, Ingenico, one of the largest manufacturers of card payment terminals, could leave Russia in March 2023

MOSCOW, January 25. /TASS/. A sufficient number of major vendors of POS equipment, including payment terminals, is present on the Russian market and they can replace Ingenico if the company leaves Russia, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade said on its official Telegram account.

"Reports appeared today about the possible withdrawal of Ingenico payment terminals provider from the Russian market and potential problems with repairs and software services in this connection," the Ministry said. "A number of major POS equipment vendors is present on the Russian market, including terminals for cashless payments," the Ministry noted.

The RBC news outlet said earlier, citing sources on the payment market, that Ingenico, one of the largest manufacturers of card payment terminals, could leave Russia in March 2023. According to RBC, Ingenico’s contracts with the staff in Russia are effective until February 15 and the company plans to leave Russia on March 1.
