ISLAMABAD, January 20. /TASS/. The issue of supplies of petroleum products to Pakistan will be solved after February as the EU’s embargo on fuel deliveries from Russia comes into force, Energy Minister of the Russian Federation Nikolay Shulginov told reporters on Friday following a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Pakistan.
"We did not mention petroleum products as we have to wait for February 5 (when the EU’s embargo on supplies of petroleum products from Russia comes into force - TASS) and the definition of the price cap. [After that we are to] amend the [oil] agreement that we are developing," he said.
In a joint statement following the intergovernmental commission’s meeting Shulginov said that Russia and Pakistan planned to reach an agreement on the issue of oil and gas supplies from Russia by the end of March 2023, without mentioning petroleum products.
