Polymetal is selling Russian gold to Asia — CEO

Vitaly Nesis did not name countries purchasing Polymetal’s gold

MOSCOW, November 2. /TASS/. Polymetal is currently selling gold produced in Russia to Asian countries, CEO of the second largest gold miner in Russia Vitaly Nesis said at a teleconference with investors.

"We earlier sold the greater portion of gold via Russian banks to London and we made sales to the National Bank of Kazakhstan in Kazakhstan. Now we continue selling gold to the National Bank in Kazakhstan, while certain Asian countries are buying Russian gold," the top manager said.

Nesis did not name countries purchasing Polymetal’s gold.

According to results of nine months of this year, gold sales by Polymetal contracted by 19% annually to 816,000 Troy ounces, while silver sales surged 20% to 15.1 mln Troy ounces.
