WASHINGTON, September 16. /TASS/. World Bank has taken the decision to stop making annual Doing Business reports following the information about violations revealed in several recent reports, the bank’s press service announced on Thursday.
"After reviewing all the information available to date on Doing Business, including the findings of·past reviews, audits, and the report the Bank released today on behalf of the Board of Executive Directors, World Bank Group·management·has taken the decision to·discontinue the·Doing Business report," according to the press release.
In August 2020, the World Bank paused publication of Doing Business ratings, which provide annual assessment of the conditions for doing business in different countries, following reports about violations made during the preparation of previous ratings. The institution initiated reviews and audits into the last five publications. In June 2020, data irregularities on Doing Business 2018 and 2020 were reported.
