Russian forces shot down MiG-29 aircraft of Ukrainian Air Force

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have also lost more than 500 servicemen per day as a result of the actions of Russia’s Center battlegroup

MOSCOW, March 22. /TASS/. Russia’s air defense systems have shot down a MiG-29 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

"The air defense systems destroyed one MiG-29 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force, shot down five JDAM air-launched bombs, and five HIMARS multiple launch rockets, as well as 142 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles," the report said.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have also lost more than 500 servicemen per day as a result of the actions of Russia’s Center battlegroup.

"The units of Russia’s Center battlegroup improved the situation along the front line. They inflicted losses on formations of two mechanized, one ranger, and one assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, one marine brigade and one brigade of the National Guard in the areas of the settlements of Novopavlovka, Krasnoarmeysk, Udachnoye, Dimitrov, Troitskoye, and Alekseyevka in the Donetsk People's Republic. The losses of the Ukrainian armed formations amounted to more than 500 servicemen, six armored combat vehicles, including a US-made M113 infantry fighting vehicle, 14 vehicles, and five field artillery pieces," the ministry said.

At the same time, the Ukrainian forces have lost over 220 servicemen in the past 24 hours as a result of the actions of Russia’s West battlegroup.

"The units of Russia’s West battlegroup improved their tactical situation. They inflicted losses on the personnel and equipment of two mechanized assault brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and a territorial defense brigade in the areas of the settlements of Cherneschina, Andreyevka in the Kharkov region, Novomikhaylovka and Novoye in the Donetsk People's Republic. The enemy's losses amounted to over 220 servicemen, two armored combat vehicles, including a US-made M113 infantry fighting vehicle, four vehicles and three field artillery guns. An ammunition depot was destroyed," the Defense Ministry said.
