MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has directed the Federal Security Service to put more focus on the fight against corruption and closely monitor the implementation of the government’s defense contracts and national projects.
"More active work is required in countering corruption. The implementation of the government’s defense orders and national projects, as well as the advancement of long-term federal and regional programs, must remain under your constant supervision," he said at a meeting with top Federal Security Service officials.
The president highlighted economic security as a traditionally important goal for the agency.
"I have said this many times, and I would like to repeat it again today: Protection of the legitimate rights of domestic businesses and combating crimes in the financial and banking sector is one of the pillars of competitiveness of our national jurisdiction, a favorable investment climate in Russia. This is extremely important," he said.
