CSTO to stabilize situation in Caucasus

Anatoly Sidorov noted that common threats have changed

MOSCOW, November 16. /TASS/. The summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will take all the necessary measures to stabilize the situation in the Caucasus, CSTO Chief-of-Staff Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov said.

"I believe the heads of state will take all measures to stabilize the situation on the Caucasian soil - in Armenia and neighboring countries," he told a briefing.

The measures were drafted by the CSTO United Headquarters and the Secretariat in 2022.

"There was a report to the heads of state. The conclusions and assessments were used to propose specific measures and draft documents. For a number of reasons the discussion is still ongoing," he said.

Sidorov noted that common threats have changed. "There is no longer a situation when dozens of divisions are concentrated at borders and everyone anticipates a military attack. Today, there may be biological, information and economic threats. They have common trends in spreading and development. The heads of state, ministries and officials take measures to counter them," he said.
